  • CMA’s Run for the Son started as an effort to provide just one motorcycle to a pastor in Guatemala. From that simple beginning, Run for the Son has now provided transportation to 14,575 pastors, evangelists, and Christian workers around the world.

The Christian Motorcyclists Association is a non-profit organization totally supported by motorcyclists and enthusiasts who believe in Jesus Christ, believe in this ministry, and give sacrificial gifts of love.

Founded in 1975, CMA has had over 161,000 people join and more than 1,290 chapters chartered in the United States. CMA is represented in 32 countries around the world.

The main purpose of the Christian Motorcyclists Association is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with motorcyclists. This is achieved by attending motorcycle rallies, tours, races, etc. and conducting worship services at these events whenever possible. Another way of reaching the lost is by going and serving them through handing out free water and coffee, ministering to the children and helping those in need. These evangelistic efforts allow us to expose more than 2 million people to the Gospel with approximately 14,000 of those accepting Christ annually, in the United States alone. This would not be possible without Run for the Son.

CMA uses a portion of Run for the Son monies to assist in the printing and distribution of multitudes of tracts and other evangelistic tools; such things as New Testaments, the Spoke-N-Word (Gospel of John) and paper cups with the message of the Gospel printed on them. These cups are used to distribute free water and coffee at races and rallies, in an effort to impact some of the hundreds of thousands of bikers who attend. God has honored our efforts!

CMA's percentage is used to minister to bikers in the United States and all over the world. It is specifically used to take the Gospel to searching people in the various ways described above. Over the past twenty-eight years, Run for the Son has provided more than $23 million dollars towards Home Missions, and CMA International, to reach people all over the world.

For more than thirty-five years, the impact of the JESUS film has been felt in jungles, deserts, and bustling cities around the world. Executive Director Erick Schenkel emphasizes, 'Our mission is to provide people with a life-changing encounter with Jesus through film.'

Considered by many as the catalyst in accelerating worldwide evangelism, discipleship, and church planting; to date, the JESUS film has been produced in 1,309 languages and shown around the world to an audience of billions. Of those, more than 200 million people have indicated a decision to follow Christ after viewing the film.

The JESUS Film Project, a ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ, continues to reach nonbelieving people groups worldwide by delivering the Gospel in their heart language in creative and effective ways.

CMA’s partnership with The JESUS Film Project has made a huge impact in the lives of countless faithful Christians. In fact, for every dollar invested, historically at least ten people worldwide see the JESUS film and one person accepts Christ.

With these estimates in mind, approximately 110 million people have viewed the film resulting in approximately 11 million decisions for Christ due to Run for the Son gifts! Since 1998, when this partnership in global evangelism began, CMA gifts to The JESUS Film Project have totaled more than $11,024,345! In that time, billions of people have viewed JESUS and our other media tools, and 150 million have indicated a decision for Christ! These funds have been used to train church planters, assist in developing 28 new language versions of the JESUS film, supported the completion of 146 more and equipped JESUS film teams in 96 countries with film showing equipment, film prints, DVDs and vehicles that help get the Good News of Jesus Christ to the remotest areas of the world. CMA was also a major contributor to the new film being used to reach oppressed women in hard-to-reach, restricted countries.

Missionary Ventures began in 1983 as an interdenominational missionary organization to assist Guatemala Christian leadership through strategic partnering relationships, enabling them to reach their own people with the love and message of Christ. From Guatemala, this vision has been carried throughout the globe; developing Christian leaders, assisting them to plant churches and ministries that reach out to the impoverished and hurting people in their communities.

Transportation is a strategic tool for world evangelism. Most indigenous pastors working in jungles, mountain villages, and distant towns are limited to walking. Through Missionary Ventures, CMA supplies motorcycles, bicycles and other forms of transportation to indigenous pastors and evangelists. Through Run for the Son’s gifts to Missionary Ventures, CMA has placed 5,396 motorcycles, 6,484 bicycles, 26 boats, 24 horses, 3 horse and buggies, 2 snowmobiles and 1 camel to pastors working in 104 different countries.

Over the past twenty-eight years, Run for the Son has donated $12,387,716 to Missionary Ventures. Historically, most of the vehicles provided by this money have gone to pastors and evangelists planting new churches and going into new areas with the Gospel. Typically, they will plant a new church and within the first year see at least one hundred people come to Christ. Statistics are difficult to calculate, but we have seen as many as twelve new churches planted with the use of one motorcycle. Run for the Son helps these native Christian leaders expand their outreach 'to the end of the earth' (Acts 1:8b, NKJV).

For 61 years, Open Doors has been working in the world's most oppressive and restrictive countries, strengthening Christians to stand strong in the face of persecution and equipping them to shine Christ's light in these dark places.

Open Doors empowers persecuted Christians by providing Bibles and Gospel development resources, by supporting the advancement of women and children, and through Christian community restoration.

Christians are the single most persecuted religious group in the world. Over 100 million Christians worldwide suffer interrogation, arrest and even death for their faith in Jesus Christ with millions more facing discrimination and alienation. Our daily newscasts underscore the reality of this persecution, often in gruesome detail.

CMA's partnership with Open Doors has made a huge impact in the lives of countless Christians, equipping them to faithfully stand strong, despite the persecution they face. Since Run for the Son began in the mid-80's, $12,422,986 has been put to use by Open Doors to assist persecuted Christians through the distribution of 2,519,112 Bibles around the world, along with providing Christian leadership training, work training, church restoration, medical assistance and more.

From an Open Doors partner, about the importance of the Word of God in Syria:
Many Christian leaders say that God is using the war in Syria for good. 'The world uses bombs and rockets. We have a weapon that gives life: the Word of God,' Pastor Daniel from Damascus says. 'Many thousands of families found their way to the churches. I even saw an Imam come to Christ.' This is part of the reason why we have distributed tens of thousands of Bibles for children, youth and adults; so that these new believers have the Word of God in their hands.

The Christian Motorcyclists Association was founded in 1975 with the vision of taking the Gospel to bikers, and God has been faithfully fulfilling that vision. Today, CMA is in 38 countries with 1,380 chapters chartered in the United States.

CMA’s Run for the Son started as an effort to provide just one motorcycle to a pastor in Guatemala. From that simple beginning, Run for the Son has now provided transportation to 14,575 pastors, evangelists, and Christian workers around the world. Over the past thirty-three years, CMA has been able to extend the open arms of Christ to millions of people around the world, through the fruits of Run for the Son.
